Registered Charity for Education, No. 513437

The Rossendale Society for Genealogy & Heraldry was established in Bury in April 1973.
A branch at Lancaster was formed in 1984 as the
Lancaster Family History Society
on 15th of March 1984 in Lancaster,
Harold Wilkinson
was elected our first Chairman. Following the initial meeting at the Trades Hall on Fenton Street, Lancaster,
the branch moved to the modern Public Library at Morecambe and adopted the name of the :

Lancaster & Morecambe branch of Lancashire Family History & Heraldry Society.
Since then, members have accumulated a vast amount of local knowledge relating to History & Genealogy.
The branch has transcribed most of the Parish registers for this part of North Lancashire and there can be few
grave yards in the area that have not been recorded by our famous team the
'Dead Club'

To join the society, use our on-line link to GenFair and start getting the benefits of membership straight away
Annual subscriptions are: UK Students & OAP £9.50, Ordinary Members £12.00, Overseas £14.00
