This index is for the names of persons mentioned in the old Lancaster Newspaper Announcements,
usually for Births but mainly Deaths and Marriages.
The years covered are: 1851, 1858, 1860, 1861, 1862, 1863. 1885, 1887, 1888, 1889, 1890, 1891, 1892 & 1893
18,500 lines of data have been indexed and form a valuable data base for finding news of your ancestors.
As with any transcription, errors may have occurred at various stages in computerising this large index,
You should therefore consult the original records to verify the data. Odd duplicate entries do appear in the index
as sometimes the announcements were entered for more than one week.
Some years are very detailed and include: dates, abodes, ages and relationships, this data can be supplied to
members free of charge. The full details of year 1860 was published on Microfiche and is still available.

In order to keep the loading and search times on your computer to a minimum,
